SACRAMENTO— Assemblymember Alanis (R-Modesto) is proud to share the passing of Assembly Bill 2328, a bill that would increase accountability for drivers involved in hit-and-runs.
“Fleeing the scene of a serious crash is not just irresponsible, it is often the difference between life and death,” said Assemblymember Alanis. “I am grateful to my colleagues for their support on AB 2328. This bill will ensure that those who abandon victims are held fully accountable for their actions.”
AB 2328 will increase penalties for drivers who leave the scene of a crash that has resulted in serious injury or death. Raising the sentencing by a year will reinforce the legal and moral obligation for drivers to stop, provide aid, and take responsibility following a collision.
