ASSEMBLYMEMBER ALANIS STATEMENT ON BEING SELECTED AS THE NEW ASSEMBLY REPUBLICAN CAUCUS CHAIR

SACRAMENTO – I am proud to have the confidence of my Republican colleagues as their new Assembly Republican Caucus Chair. I want to thank Republican Leader Heath Flora for his faith and confidence in my ability to help lead our caucus operations heading into the new term next year. I remain deeply committed to working with my colleagues to advance legislation that improves the lives of all Californians. I look forward to working with our new Deputy Leader Ali Macedo and our new Floor Leader Kate Sanchez to lead our caucus forward. I also look forward to working with my colleagues to tackle our state’s challenges. Among these, addressing the affordability crisis, making our communities safer, and protecting our kids remain top priorities of mine. Again, I want to thank our outgoing leader James Gallagher for his leadership, mentorship and friendship. He taught me a great deal in my first three years in office and I will always remember his kindness and grace. Again, I am grateful to all of colleagues for their trust, and I look forward to the upcoming legislative year.
