I’m very disappointed to hear that the Taxpayer Protection and Government Accountability Act will not appear on the November 5th ballot. The electorate in California should have been able to decide the status of this initiative at the ballot box, as the state constitution allows. The continued attack on the voter’s right to decide policy for themselves at the ballot box is both dangerous and disheartening. Instead, the California Supreme Court, at the requests of Democrats, has taken that decision away from the voters. I will nonetheless continue to advocate for legislation and government action that will help to make California a more affordable place.
