Assembly Bill 1796: Parental Notifications of Career-Related Courses: will require local educational agencies serving grades 9-12 to notify parents and/or guardians of the specific International Baccalaureate (IB) and dual enrollment course offerings available at their minor student’s respective campus. Current Status: Pending referral to a Senate Committee.

Assembly Bill 1813: Senior Tenant Shallow Rental Subsidy Programwill authorize the Department of Housing and Community Development to distribute grants to cities and counties to provide rent subsidies for older adults determined to be at-risk of homelessness. Current Status: Pending before the Assembly Committee on Housing and Community Development.

Assembly Bill 1817: Comprehensive Goals to End Youth Homelessness: Requires the California Interagency on Homelessness to measure two additional goals to end youth homelessness related to food security and economic stability. Current StatusPending before the Assembly Committee on Appropriations.

Assembly Bill 1839: Prospective Peace Officers Student Grant Program: Establishes a student financial aid grant program specifically tailored for prospective peace officers will help ensure that the “school to law enforcement” pipeline is sufficiently supported to meet California’s goal of a better educated and better trained law enforcement workforce. Current StatusPending before the Assembly Committee on Appropriations.

Assembly Bill 1845: Retail Theft Grants for Local Law Enforcement: Establishes the Identifying, Apprehending, and Prosecuting Resale of Stolen Property Grant Program for law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute those involved in stolen property crimes. Current StatusPending before the Assembly Committee on Appropriations.

Assembly Bill 1859: Tracking Tranq Deathswill require coroners to test for the presence of xylazine, commonly termed Tranq, in certain autopsy cases and report positive results to relevant authorities. Current StatusPending before the Assembly Committee on Appropriations.

Assembly Bill 1871: Personal Finance Instruction for Grades 7-12: will add personal finance to the adopted course of study within the social sciences for grades 7-12. Current Status: Pending a vote on the Assembly Floor.

Assembly Bill 1880: Youth Social Media Exploitationwill broaden the scope of the Coogan Law, designed to safeguard young performers, to encompass minors showcased in compensated online content, spanning websites, social networks, and applications. Current Status: Pending referral to a Senate Committee.

Assembly Bill 1902: Prescription Labeling for the Blind and Low-Vision: will require pharmacy dispensers to notify patients of and provide no-cost accessible prescription labels for patients identifying as blind, low-vision, or otherwise print disabled, upon request. Current Status: Pending before the Assembly Committee on Appropriations.

Assembly Bill 1927: Golden State Teacher Grant for CTE Instructors: will make prospective career technical education (CTE) instructors eligible for the Golden State Teacher Grant Program. Current Status: Pending before the Assembly Committee on Education.

Assembly Bill 1954: Sexually Violent Predators Placement Notifications: will require the California Department of State Hospitals (DHS) to include, in their notifications, the district attorney’s for the counties being considered as alternative counties for placement of an SVP.  The bill will also require the DSH to notify relevant parties by certified U.S. Postal mail. Current Status: Pending before the Assembly Committee on Appropriations.

Assembly Bill 1972: Cargo Theft: will expand the definition of California’s organized retail theft statute to include the term “cargo”, giving law enforcement and prosecutors additional tools to protect rail lines and shipping routes from organized cargo theft. Current StatusPending before the Assembly Committee on Appropriations.

Assembly Bill 1996: Opioid Overdose Training: will require the California Department of Public Health to create an opioid overdose training program for staff in stadiums, concert venues, and amusement parks, including the option for onsite training. The bill will also make the locations of opioid antagonists widely known and easily accessible. Current Status: Pending before the Assembly Committees on Appropriations.

Assembly Bill 2291: Mobile Homes: will modernize the state’s Mobilehome Residency Law Protection Act per the State Auditor recommendations, increasing transparency and efficiency for California’s mobile home owners. Current Status: Pending before the Assembly Committee on Housing and Community Development.

Assembly Bill 2436: Cattle Inspection Fee Increase: will increase various inspection fees per head of cattle. Current Status: Pending before the Assembly Committee on Appropriations.

Assembly Bill 2385: Graduated Driver License Program: will increase driver safety by extending the driver education, permit, and provisional license elements of the California’s GDL Program for new drivers 18 through 20 years old, with exemptions. Current Status: Pending before the Assembly Committee on Transportation.

Assembly Constitutional Amendment 15: Eliminate Early Release for Sex Offenders: Upon voter approval, will eliminate the eligibility of inmates convicted of felony sex offenses for parole and additional early release credit. Current Status: Pending referral to an Assembly Committee.

Assembly Constitutional Amendment 2: Water and Wildfire Resiliency Act of 2024: Upon voter approval, will ensure guaranteed, ongoing funding for water infrastructure and forest maintenance allowing the state to fulfill its promise to invest in the infrastructure and workforce necessary for healthy and reliable management efforts of California’s precious natural resources. Current Status: Pending before the Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee.
