MODESTO – Assemblymember Juan Alanis honored Rena Bryant as the 2025 Assembly District 22 Nurse of the Year during a presentation ceremony held Friday, March 20, at the Healers Touch Garden at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
Bryant was recognized for her longstanding service in nursing and for the impact she has made on patient care, trauma services, and community health throughout the Central Valley.
“It is my honor to recognize Rena Bryant as the Assembly District 22 Nurse of the Year,” said Assemblymember Alanis. “Rena has been a source of inspiration and guidance, and renowned for the abundance of knowledge she generously shares with others. Through her outstanding efforts, she has improved the quality of medical services for patients across the Central Valley and the State of California.”
Bryant began her nursing career in 2006 when she joined the emergency department at Sutter Memorial Medical Center. In 2013, she accepted the position of Injury Prevention Coordinator for the Trauma Department at Doctors Medical Center Modesto, where she continued building a career defined by leadership, service, and a deep commitment to helping others.
During the ceremony, Assemblymember Alanis presented Bryant with a framed Assembly resolution in recognition of her important work throughout nearly 20 years of service and in honor of the continued contributions she is making to the community.
“It is an honor to recognize her for her outstanding service and the lasting impact she continues to make in our community,” Alanis said.
The presentation was part of the 2025 Nurse of the Year ceremony hosted at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, where Bryant was recognized alongside remarks from Central Valley Doctors Health System CEO Jay Krishnaswamy, California Highway Patrol, and Stephanie Anderson, RN, BSN, CEN, MICN, on behalf of Doctor’s Medical Center Trauma Services Department.
